Everyone loves a piece of crispy fried chicken now and again, and a little fried food occasionally is okay, but there are ways to enjoy your favorite meats and vegetables without pulling out the cast iron skillet and lard.
Higher calorie intake from fried foods also results in weight gain. Due to the high temperatures of heated oil, foods such as vegetables lose a lot of their moisture and easily-perishable vitamins when fried. When it comes to grilling vs. frying your favorite foods, frying may be the more tempting option initially; however, grilling reigns supreme for a multitude of reasons.
Today we're back with another installment of our monthly series of personal essays from members of the YBC Community. I personally love to create content, but I don't want YBC to be the Candace Show. I firmly believe that everyone knows something I don't, and therefore, we can always learn from others. My hope is that through these personal essays, we develop a deeper bond within the YBC Community, connect with one another, and learn from each other. About Brita: Hi! I'm Brita, a Nashville based food photographer and writer who blogs at BBritnell.com where I create delicious, mostly plant based and healthy recipes. I just recently quit my day job of working in state government to pursue a full time career of food photography, videography, and working on my blog! I first got into yoga while playing roller derby for the Nashville Rollergirls. Honestly, I hated it at first but quickly realized the immense benefits it had to my body, my mind, and (at the time) my ability to better play the sport. Since retiring from roller derby, I've kept up with yoga and am working on increasing my flexibility and finally managing to do some of the fun arm balances. :) You might have guessed since I have a food blog but I also LOVE to cook. Some of my favorite recipes include these Black Bean Stuffed Sweet Potatoes, this Peanut Butter Pie, Black Bean & Quinoa Burgers, and Loaded Chili! If you're a meat eater, almost all of my recipes can be easily adapted to include meat as well (which is purposeful since my husband eats meat and I put a little bit in all of my recipes for him).
The key to parting amicably with a favorite food is minimizing your sense of deprivation. To this end, Purdy suggests that we strive to open ourselves up to new food horizons as we release and replace our old favorites.
Every day, we desire to eat delicious food. There is a variety of food that is available across the globe. There are many different kinds of food that we enjoy; however, my favorite is Pizza. I've had many different kinds of cuisines, but Pizza is certainly something that I can't resist.
Although there are a large variety of toppings available, my personal favorite is a combination of capsicum, onion, and corn. Sometimes jalapenos too! Pizza is my go-to food. It relieves my stress. When I take one huge bite, I am able to forget any issues or problems which are happening out there and focus my whole attention solely on my Pizza. Even when I want to celebrate something, all I look for is a Pizza. I also like Garlic Bread along with it.
As we all know, Pizza comes under Italian cuisine, but when served in another culture, it can be easily modified to suit the needs and cater to the taste buds of those people. For example, in India, various Pizzas have Paneer as a topping which is immensely loved by people. New kinds of Pizzas keep coming into the market, like Momos Pizza, Pasta Pizza, and even Parantha Pizza. All of this is done to increase the consumer base of Pizza and make it even more popular. It also leads to the mixing of cultures as those people who previously didn't like Pizza make start liking it after their favorite topping or sauce or any other food item has been fused with it.
Although my favorite food is Pizza, I love other food items too, such as Burgers, Pasta, and Indian cuisine. But when it comes to eating a healthy diet, it is impossible to beat home-cooked food. The food we eat every day helps us strengthen our immune systems and keep our bodies healthy. It is not possible to eat our favorite food every day as it is not very healthy to do so, and it'd also become very monotonous. We should give priority to home-cooked meals and eat our favorite junk food once in a while!
A morning yoga practice will help to get the blood, breath and muscles moving before breakfast, therefore allowing the nutrients from your food to be better absorbed. A strong practice can help build muscle, dramatically boost metabolism, and breathing fully and deeply increases circulation, also helping the metabolism to stay ticking along nicely.
Many people practice yoga by eating a Sattvic diet because of its root in Ayurveda, a medicinal system that started in India 5000 years ago. Those who follow a sattvic diet mainly eat nutritious foods that include fresh products and nuts, which is why this diet has so many health benefits.
Sattvic diet is a vegetarian diet that depends on ayurvedic principles and is highly popular among most yoga enthusiasts. Those who follow a sattvic diet pattern must avoid all foods that belong to Rajasic or Tamasic group, such as refined sugar, fried foods etc.
Conscious Eating. Mindfulness is not only an essential tool in your yoga practise it is also very important at mealtimes. Your food choices should be tailor made to support you, important basic factors to take into consideration are lifestyle, health and age. Your diet should come from a conscious, self-reflective look at how your eating habits affect your body, mind, and soul. By eating consciously, you quickly become aware of how your choices affect you. Sometimes you can feel these effects straight after a meal and sometimes the next day. Think indigestion, bloating, fatigue, constipation and so on.
Yogic Foods. The yogic diet is based on the yoga principles of purity (sattva), nonviolence (ahimsa), and balanced living. It consists of foods with sattvic qualities, which increase energy and create balance in the mind and body. Rajasic and Tamasic foods are limited or eliminated whenever possible, as their low vibration or life force and inherent toxins reduce the vitality of the person eating them. Yogis advocate a vegetarian/vegan diet, as one of the basic principles of yoga is not to harm any living creature. This is a pure diet that, with careful planning, leads to optimum health and a peaceful mind in control of a fit body.
Our body requires energy to function efficiently in life. This energy comes from the food we consume. There won't be any life if there is no food. There are a vast variety of meals accessible today in every country. All around the world, there are many different types of food. Indian foods like dosa, paneer, naan, chapati, and biryani are also offered. Western cuisines such as noodles, pasta, burgers, fries, and pizza are also widely available in the food business. Different people have different tastes and like and dislikes towards different varieties of foods. This my favourite food essay will talk about foods many people like.
